The President of the Limassol Water Board, Yiannis Tsouloftas, criticized the Water Development Department's (TAY) cooperation and timelines regarding desalination units. He warned that Cyprus faces a potential water shortage crisis, especially in Limassol, due to reliance on depleting dam reserves. Tsouloftas highlighted significant delays in installing new desalination units, despite urgent needs identified in 2023. The Limassol Water Board has devised a crisis management plan involving increased well usage and reducing network losses.
