The Switch has officially become Nintendo's best-selling console.

As of December 31, 2025, Nintendo Switch sales have reached 155.37 million units since its 2017 launch, surpassing the Nintendo DS. Nintendo's net profits increased by 51% in the first nine months of fiscal year 2026, driven by Switch 2 sales. The company sold 7.01 million Switch 2 units in the October-December quarter. Nintendo maintains its forecast of selling 19 million Switch 2 units by the end of the current fiscal year. Nintendo needs continued original Switch sales to potentially surpass the PlayStation 2 as the best-selling console of all time.
