USA: The government knows that China has conducted secret nuclear tests

The United States has officially accused China of conducting secret nuclear tests, while simultaneously expressing a desire for Beijing to join an arms control framework alongside Russia. Assistant Secretary of State Thomas DiNanno revealed at the UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva that Washington is aware of tests involving yields of several hundred tons. US officials alleged that the Chinese military attempted to conceal these activities by employing methods to reduce the effectiveness of seismic monitoring. According to the report, one such nuclear test was conducted on June 22, 2020. These allegations follow previous statements by Donald Trump, which had been met with denials from the Chinese government.
