Commission: These are the new guidelines for cancer prevention.

The European Commission presented an updated European Code Against Cancer ahead of World Cancer Day. The revised code offers practical guidelines for cancer prevention based on scientific evidence tailored to the EU population and national healthcare systems. Cancer remains a significant public health challenge in the EU, with millions of new cases and deaths annually, costing billions of euros. The Commission highlights the progress of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, which has invested over 2.7 billion euros to improve cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care. They also addressed the "right to be forgotten" for cancer patients, aiming for fair access to financial services.
