Toyota Motor Europe reports sales results for the first quarter of 2026

In the first quarter of 2026, Toyota Motor Europe sold 318,103 Toyota and Lexus vehicles. Battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales grew by 79% compared to the same period in 2025. Electrified models accounted for 86% of total sales, reflecting an 8% increase year-over-year. The company maintains its multi-pathway strategy, encompassing hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery electric, and hydrogen technologies. Specific BEV growth was driven by the Toyota bZ4X, Toyota C-HR+, and the new Toyota Urban Cruiser, with pure electric Toyota sales reaching 25,640 units, an 85% increase. Toyota secured a 6.6% market share, remaining the second best-selling passenger car brand in Europe. The Yaris Cross became the leading model in the B-SUV segment, while the Yaris, Corolla, and C-HR models maintained high popularity. Additionally, the Toyota Professional division achieved a historical sales record during this period.
