Liverpool FC to install memorial for Diogo Jota and Andre Silva

On May 11, Liverpool FC announced plans to install a permanent memorial near the main stand of Anfield stadium. The monument, titled 'Forever 20', honors players Diogo Jota and Andre Silva, who died in a car accident in Spain last July. The design features a 'flowing' heart sculpture inspired by Jota’s goal celebration. From specific angles, the sculpture displays the numbers 20 and 30, representing the players' jersey numbers. The memorial will rest on a stone plinth containing physical tributes previously left by fans at Anfield. Lyrics from a song dedicated to Jota, which fans sing during the 20th minute of matches, will be inscribed on the base. While the official unveiling date has not been confirmed, the club stated that the process incorporates recycled fan tributes to preserve the history of the site.
