PASYDY holds 63rd congress marking 99th anniversary in Nicosia

The 63rd congress of the Pan-Cyprian Union of Public Servants (PASYDY) took place at the Mihalakis Karaolis amphitheater in Nicosia. The event, attended by over 400 delegates, government officials, and union representatives, marked the 99th anniversary of the organization. Minister of Finance Makis Keravnos and Minister of Labour and Social Insurance Marinos Mousiouttas addressed the attendees. PASYDY President Antonis Koutsoullis highlighted the role of public servants in the country's development and the ongoing European Council Presidency. Koutsoullis urged the state to resolve operational issues hindering public sector efficiency. General Secretary Stratis Matthaiou reported on progress made since the last congress, specifically citing the final agreement on the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) and the legislative approval of tax reforms. The conference emphasized the need for ongoing modernization of the state and protection of employee rights.
