Cyprus to host 2031 Games of the Small States of Europe

The General Assembly of the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) concluded on May 9 in Monaco. During the meeting, representatives from member nations unanimously selected Cyprus as the host country for the 2031 Games. The Cyprus Olympic Committee was represented by President Georgios Chrysostomou, Treasurer Giannos Fotiou, and Administrative Officer Giorgos Panagidis. President Chrysostomou stated that preparations will involve cooperation with the government, the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth, municipal authorities, federations, the Cyprus Sports Organization, and volunteers. The Assembly also reviewed progress for the upcoming 2027 Games in Monaco and the 2029 Games in Luxembourg. Following the meetings, participants attended a dinner hosted by Prince Albert II of Monaco at the Princely Palace. During this event, Prince Albert II expressed his intention to attend the 2031 Games in Cyprus. The sessions focused on the strategic development and future growth of the regional sporting event.
