Multinational exercise Argonaut 2026 takes place in Cyprus
The multinational civil-military exercise Argonaut 2026 is scheduled to take place in Cyprus from May 11 to May 15, 2026. The exercise will be conducted in three distinct phases covering the maritime, air, and land domains, including the country's Flight Information Region and Exclusive Economic Zone. Managed by the National Guard in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Search and Rescue Coordination Center, the operation aims to test the national plans Estia and Tefkros. Plan Estia involves the reception of civilians evacuated from neighboring conflict zones, while plan Tefkros focuses on search and rescue operations within Cyprus' area of responsibility. A wide array of state agencies, along with personnel and assets from Cyprus and participating foreign nations, are involved in the maneuvers. International observers are also slated to monitor the proceedings to evaluate the civil-military cooperation protocols.
