Two separate death investigations underway in Cyprus

On Monday, authorities in Cyprus investigated two unrelated death cases. In the British Sovereign Base Areas near Liopetri and Xylophagou, police discovered a body near a burning vehicle; investigations are ongoing with all possibilities, including suicide, being considered. Meanwhile, in the Paphos district near Praitori, a 79-year-old man who had been reported missing since May 8 was found dead. Police had located his vehicle on Sunday and conducted a search operation involving drones with thermal cameras, helicopters, and police dogs. The man's body was discovered during Monday's search efforts in an open field. Forensic examinations and autopsies are pending in both cases to determine the exact causes of death. No criminal activity is suspected in the Paphos case, while the investigation in the British Base areas remains in the early stages.
