Charlie Kaufman's new film 'Later The War' to be shot in Cyprus
The Los Angeles-based sales company The Veterans has announced that it will manage international sales for Charlie Kaufman’s upcoming comedy-drama, 'Later The War'. The film is scheduled to begin production in Cyprus in 2027, following a series of site visits conducted by the director last autumn. The production features a cast including Channing Tatum, Tessa Thompson, and Patsy Ferran. Based on Iddo Gefen’s short story 'Debby’s Dream House', the plot follows an actor-director attempting to gain artistic credibility through a Holocaust-themed film while his marriage struggles. This marks Kaufman’s fourth film as a director and his twelfth screenplay. The decision to film in Cyprus was significantly facilitated by Simos Magganis and Green Olive Films, continuing a professional relationship that began with the short film 'How to Shoot a Ghost'. Kaufman is an Academy Award-winning screenwriter, known for works such as 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind', 'Adaptation', and 'Being John Malkovich'.
