Alexandros Panagiotou appointed as Supreme Court judge

President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides has officially appointed Alexandros Panagiotou to the position of Supreme Court judge. Panagiotou has nearly 30 years of experience in the judicial system. His previous roles include serving as President of the Assize Court and Administrative President of the District Courts of Nicosia and Larnaca. Since 2020, he has served as the President of the Cyprus Judges Association. Additionally, he has held the position of President of the Court of Appeal since March 2024. The President emphasized the importance of judicial independence in upholding the rule of law and public trust. This appointment marks the conclusion of the latest round of judicial appointments in the country.
