Developments in the 'Santi' case as investigation reaches final stages
The police investigation into the 'Santi' case, triggered by allegations from Makarios Drousiotis, has reached its final stages. Police Chief Themistos Arnautis has received a comprehensive report, which includes input from an FBI team that evaluated the reliability and behavior of the 45-year-old subject, as well as an investigative team from the police headquarters. The report contains over 70 to 80 statements, evidence from bank accounts, and records of the subject's domestic and international movements. Justice Minister Costas Phytiris is set to be briefed on these findings, after which the file will be transferred to the Legal Service for an extensive review. Europol is currently conducting a forensic analysis of digital evidence, including the authenticity and content of messages, with results expected soon. The investigation aims to determine whether controversial messages were fabricated or intercepted from a former judge's mobile device. While sources suggest results could arrive by Tuesday, police spokesperson Byron Byronos stated that there is no precise timeline for the remaining findings.
