AEK Athens secures the 14th league title

On Sunday, May 10, AEK Athens officially won the 14th league title in its history after a 2-1 victory over Panathinaikos. The championship was clinched mathematically following the draw between Olympiacos and PAOK (1-1) in the 4th round of the Stoiximan Super League playoffs. AEK owner Marios Iliopoulos celebrated with players and fans at the stadium and later at a local nightlife venue. In his post-match statements, Iliopoulos attributed the team's success to four core values: patience, persistence, faith, and passion. He dedicated the title to the displaced people from Asia Minor and Constantinople 102 years ago and to the Greek youth. The owner also criticized unnamed football systems and industry practices, asserting that the team overcame external obstacles to earn the trophy. AEK finished the season as league champions two matchdays before the official end of the tournament.
