Husband arrested for attempted murder of wife in Heraklion
On Saturday, May 9, a 27-year-old woman was found critically injured with severe head trauma on a road in the Pantanassa area of Heraklion, Crete. The victim, a mother of three, remains hospitalized at PAGNI and is currently unable to provide testimony. Authorities arrested her 30-year-old husband, G.I., who has been charged with attempted premeditated murder. The incident reportedly occurred while the couple's three young children, including a three-month-old infant and a first-grade student, were present inside the family's van. The husband initially claimed that his wife fell out of the moving vehicle, but preliminary police findings contradict this version. Investigations suggest the suspect may have been driving under the influence of alcohol and without a valid driver's license. Furthermore, evidence including the condition of the vehicle and testimony from one of the children is being used against the suspect. The defendant has been granted time to prepare his apology before the court on Tuesday.
