Police investigate murder and disposal of body in Loudias River

On the night of Saturday, May 9, 2026, a man was fatally shot during a dispute at a residence in Nea Malgara, Thessaloniki. The incident reportedly involved a confrontation between several individuals, during which one person seized a weapon and fired at the victim. Following the shooting, the perpetrators transported the body and disposed of it in the Loudias River, allegedly weighting it with bricks. The investigation was initiated after a citizen informed a police officer at Dendropotamos that his sons had witnessed the crime. Upon searching the residence in Nea Malgara, forensic teams discovered a bullet casing. Two suspects were subsequently located and have reportedly confessed to the murder and the disposal of the body. The case has been assigned to the Organized Crime Response Division. Authorities are currently conducting search operations to recover the victim's remains.
