3D digitization of the Saint Neophytos Enkleistra under the EUreka3D-XR project

The European project EUreka3D-XR, scheduled for 2025-2026, involves the 3D digitization of the Saint Neophytos Enkleistra in Paphos, Cyprus. The initiative extends to digitizing artifacts, archives, and library collections belonging to the monastery. Similar pilot applications are being implemented in Spain and France. The project is led by a team of four experts: Marinos Ioannides from the Cyprus University of Technology, Nadia Magnenat-Thalmann from the University of Geneva, Antonella Fresa of Promoter S.r.l., and Byzantine art historian Maria Pafiti. The goal is to preserve cultural heritage through modern digital technologies and academic study. The project serves as a model for using digital documentation to protect historical sites and artifacts across Europe.
