Cypriot president visits Moldova for the first time
On Saturday, President Nikos Christodoulides is conducting the first-ever official visit by a Cypriot head of state to Chisinau, Moldova. Accompanied by Deputy Minister of European Affairs Marilena Rauna and other officials, he departed at noon to meet with Moldovan President Maia Sandu. Their agenda includes discussions on bilateral relations, Moldova's EU accession process, regional developments, and the ongoing Cyprus issue. Following their meeting at the Presidential Palace, the two leaders are scheduled to hold a press conference and attend a dinner. Before his departure on Saturday evening, President Christodoulides and President Sandu will visit the city's central square to address a concert marking Europe Day. This visit underscores diplomatic efforts to strengthen ties between the two nations.
