Two separate vehicle fires reported in Nicosia district

Two vehicle fire incidents were reported in the Nicosia district. On Sunday night at approximately 9:20 p.m., a car owned by a 30-year-old was destroyed by fire while parked in Strovolos, with the cause currently under investigation by the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department. Separately, at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, another fire occurred in the village of Mammari involving a vehicle owned by a 49-year-old man and used by a 48-year-old woman. This second fire completely destroyed the primary vehicle, caused extensive damage to a second vehicle owned by a 23-year-old woman, and damaged the windows and doors of the 49-year-old man's residence. Authorities have preliminarily classified the Mammari incident as an act of arson. The Fire Service successfully extinguished both blazes. Investigations are ongoing for both cases under the supervision of the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department.
