Wisconsin woman charged with child abuse and neglect of 14-year-old stepdaughter
Milesa Goodman, a 52-year-old resident of Wisconsin, faces charges of severe child abuse and neglect involving her 14-year-old autistic stepdaughter, Savannah Goodman. Authorities report that between 2020 and August 2025, the victim was kept in isolation in a room without a mattress at the family's mobile home. The teenager was subjected to chronic starvation and dehydration, leading to a critical condition where she weighed only 35 kilograms and suffered from multiple organ failures, including respiratory issues and pancreatitis. Police discovered the girl in a comatose state, noting she appeared physically comparable to a six-year-old child. The stepmother is accused of psychological abuse and chronic neglect, facing up to 46 years in prison if convicted. While the family previously claimed the girl was away on vacation or with relatives, police investigations confirmed she was held captive within the household. Her father, Walter Goodman, alerted authorities to the situation, which remains under active legal investigation.
