Jet ski collides with gray whale near Vancouver

A jet ski collided with a gray whale off the coast of Vancouver, British Columbia, on Monday evening around 7:30 p.m. The incident occurred near Siwash Rock in Stanley Park. Witnesses, including Richard Savage and Kevin Connolly, observed the jet ski traveling at a high speed near the shore before the collision took place. The driver was ejected from the vehicle as a result of the impact and sustained injuries. The condition of the whale remains unknown following the incident. Canada’s Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) has launched an investigation into the matter. Observers reported that the whale had been feeding near Second Beach in the days leading up to the accident.
