Small aircraft overturns during landing at Cape Cod Gateway Airport
On Thursday afternoon, a Bearhawk LSA-8X aircraft overturned while attempting to land at Cape Cod Gateway Airport in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. local time on the south side of runway 24. The pilot, who was the only person on board, sustained minor injuries and received medical treatment at the scene. The aircraft had originated from a flight departing from Falmouth Airport. Following the crash, a small fuel leak was identified and contained by local fire services. Airport operations were temporarily suspended for approximately 45 minutes to manage the scene. Visual reports indicate the aircraft remained largely intact despite the turnover.
