U.S. awaits Iran's response on Middle East crisis resolution

He characterized the Iranian political system as fragmented and dysfunctional, potentially hindering the process. Furthermore, Rubio addressed reports that Iran may be seeking to establish control over navigation in the Strait, labeling such actions as unacceptable. Regarding the conflict in Lebanon, he stated that Hezbollah is the primary driver of violence and emphasized that the U.S. will not negotiate with Iran over the group. The U.S. aims to strengthen and equip the Lebanese government to counter Hezbollah, with Italy potentially playing a role in providing this support and cutting off funding to the militant group.
