President Christodoulides visits Makarios III Technical School

On Friday, President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides visited the Makarios III Technical and Vocational Education and Training School in Nicosia. He was accompanied by the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Athena Michaelidou, and Presidential Commissioner Marios Chartsiotis. The visit included a breakfast prepared by students, including those from special education programs. President Christodoulides stated that technical education is a key pillar for the country's future and expressed the government's commitment to its modernization. He announced the expansion of technical gymnasiums from two to four, with plans for further increases. The President emphasized that the government is also working on updating curricula and establishing new technical schools across Cyprus. He highlighted a shift in societal perception regarding technical education and reiterated the government's obligation to provide equal opportunities to all students, including those in special education.
