Nicosia drug seizure case involving 26-year-old suspect

On May 7, 2026, the Nicosia Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) in collaboration with the Customs Department arrested a 26-year-old man following the discovery of a courier package containing approximately 4.38 kilograms of cannabis. A subsequent search of the suspect's residence yielded an additional 3.4 kilograms of cannabis and eight mobile phones. Following his arrest, the Nicosia District Court issued an eight-day detention order against the suspect. Investigations revealed a further shipment at a courier company addressed to the same individual, containing another 4.396 kilograms of cannabis.
