Annual blood donation held in Limassol in memory of Panikos Erotokritou
On Friday, May 8, 2026, the 15th annual volunteer blood donation event took place at the Agios Georgios Chavouzas hall in Limassol. The event is held in memory of Second Lieutenant Panikos Erotokritou, who died in a car accident on the Limassol-Paphos highway near Paramali on March 29, 2011, at the age of 27. The initiative is organized by the Paphos Police Directorate, the Erotokritou family, and the Anagennisi Prosfygon Athletic Club. Minister of Justice Konstantinos Fytiris and Minister of Health Neofytos Charalampidis were in attendance. Police officers from all districts participated in the donation to support the national Blood Bank. The event is scheduled to conclude at 8:30 p.m. local time. Erotokritou was a graduate of the Hellenic Air Force Academy who served at the Andreas Papandreou air base in Paphos at the time of his death.
