European liver screening campaign launches in Cyprus
The European Liver Patients Association (ELPA) is launching the European Liver Screening Campaign 2026 in Cyprus for the first time. The event is scheduled for May 9, 10, and 11, 2026, at the Mall of Cyprus in Nicosia. Members of the public can receive free, non-invasive, and rapid liver health assessments during the specified hours: 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday, and 10 am to 12 pm on Monday. ELPA President Marko Korenjak stated that the initiative aims to raise awareness about liver disease, which is often described as a silent condition. The campaign is organized in collaboration with the Cyprus Liver Patients and Friends Association 'Prometheus', led by President Giannoula Koulla. Mr. Korenjak emphasized that early detection is critical and advocated for routine liver screenings to be integrated into standard healthcare. The organizers encourage the public to take advantage of these free tests to assess their health status.
