Sixteen-year-old girl dies after falling from attraction in China
On May 3, a 16-year-old student named Liu died following a fatal incident at the Maliuyan Adventure Park in Huaiying, Sichuan province, China. The teenager was participating in an attraction known as the Waterfall Swing, which involves swinging over a deep gorge. Video footage shows the girl shouting that her safety harness was not properly secured just before the ride began. Despite her warnings, the mechanism proceeded to launch her. During the swing, the safety harness failed or detached, causing the girl to fall from a height estimated between 160 and 168 meters. She struck rocks during the fall and died while being transported to the hospital. The park has been closed, and initial reports indicate a failure in safety protocols and equipment. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
