Lidl Cyprus renews energy management certification for all facilities

Lidl Cyprus has maintained its ISO 50001:2018 certification for energy management systems across its entire real estate portfolio, which includes 22 stores, a logistics center, and company headquarters. The company's sustainability strategy focuses on four key pillars, including the reduction of operational emissions, energy efficiency enhancements, and increased transparency. To achieve these goals, Lidl Cyprus secured green certificates (Guarantees of Origin) for 100% of the energy supplied by the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC). The company currently utilizes energy sourced directly from its private photovoltaic installations or indirectly via the aforementioned green certificates to offset conventional power usage. Technical upgrades have been implemented across the network, such as the installation of LED lighting and intelligent electromechanical automation systems. Furthermore, the company is upgrading its telemetry systems to facilitate real-time monitoring and data-driven decision-making regarding resource consumption. Staff training programs are also in place to ensure that employees adopt energy-saving practices during daily operations.
