Ramle court orders Netanyahu to submit medical records in defamation lawsuit
The Ramle Magistrate Court has ordered Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to submit his medical records as part of a defamation lawsuit. The case involves a suit filed by Netanyahu against journalists Uri Misgav and Ben Caspit, as well as activist Gonen Ben Yitzhak. The defendants had publicly claimed in 2024 that the Prime Minister was suffering from a serious illness. Following Netanyahu’s disclosure last month regarding his diagnosis and treatment for prostate cancer, the court mandated the submission of his updated medical file. Judge Menachem Mizrahi ordered that the documents include details on the initial diagnosis date and the specifics of his recent treatment. The court also requires a signed letter from Netanyahu’s lead physician, Dr. Zvi Berkovitz, confirming the accuracy of the records. The medical files will be sealed and not made available for public release. The deadline for the submission of these documents is May 13.
