Plans for a new regional stadium in Kelli, Aradippou, progress

Plans for a new regional football stadium in the Kelli municipal district of Aradippou are moving forward following previous delays. The project, intended to host first-division teams and serve the newly consolidated municipalities of Kelli and Troulloi, was initially planned by the previous Aradippou Municipal Council with financing support from the Cyprus Sports Organization (KOA). An architectural competition was held in 2023, but the project faced regulatory hurdles. Mayor Christodoulos Partou confirmed that design work is now complete following consultations with the KOA. Approval was obtained despite the site's proximity to a military camp, and issues regarding the Turkish Cypriot Properties Custodian have been resolved. The municipal council is currently awaiting planning permission to apply for a building permit. The facility is estimated to cost approximately 10 million euros and will include a 3,500-seat stadium and two auxiliary training fields. The municipality aims to commence construction within 2028.
