Major landslide triggers massive tsunami in Alaska

On August 10, a significant landslide at the South Sawyer Glacier in Alaska's Tracy Arm fjord triggered a massive tsunami. Reaching heights of approximately 481 meters, the event is documented as the second highest tsunami in recorded history, surpassed only by the 1958 Lituya Bay incident. The landslide occurred at 5:30 a.m., causing severe landscape destruction including uprooted forests and displaced boulders.
