University of Nicosia inaugurates new campus in Athens
On April 30, the University of Nicosia officially inaugurated its new academic and research campus, UNIC Athens, located in the Elliniko area of Athens. The project, which exceeds €65 million in total investment, was financed by Eurobank to cover both property acquisition and the modernization of facilities. Funding was also facilitated through the Recovery and Resilience Facility loan programme. The campus development is a joint initiative involving the University of Nicosia and the Hellenic Healthcare Group. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides, and representatives from the banking and academic sectors. Eurobank's deputy chief executive officer, Konstantinos Vassiliou, represented the lender at the event. The new facility is intended to serve as the university's primary research and academic base in Greece.
