Pensioner organizations to protest at the Ministry of Labor

Several pensioner organizations, including EKSY-PEO, PESYS-SEK, the PASYDY Pensioners Branch, and the Widower Men's Struggle Committee, announced a protest scheduled for Tuesday, May 12. The demonstration will take place at 10:00 a.m. outside the Ministry of Labor in Nicosia. The groups are seeking a resolution regarding the eligibility for widowers' pensions for men whose spouses died before January 2018. Following a meeting on May 6, the organizations expressed dissatisfaction with the government's lack of response to their previous correspondence. The participants intend to meet with the Minister of Labor to clarify the government's official position. The protesters have also warned that further actions, including demonstrations at the Presidential Palace, may follow if their demands are not addressed. The organizations are calling for those directly affected to join the gathering to pressure the government into action.
