Road closures and ongoing maintenance works across Cyprus

Various road construction and maintenance projects are currently underway throughout Cyprus, leading to temporary traffic adjustments. On May 11, 2026, the right lanes of the Limassol-Paphos motorway were closed in both directions between Episkopi and Paphos for cleaning works on the central reservation. Additional works include emergency door installations on the Larnaca-Kofinou motorway scheduled from May 13 to 19, and asphalt paving on the old Nicosia-Limassol road on May 11 and 12. In Paphos, excavation works for variable message signs are set for May 13 on Mesogis Avenue. Previously, Byronos Avenue in Nicosia was affected by a water pipe burst, and various asphalt projects took place in Limassol on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue in May. Authorities urge drivers to exercise caution, follow temporary signage, and plan their routes in advance to minimize inconvenience. Ongoing projects by the Department of Public Works and the Department of Forests in the Larnaca region are also affecting local traffic through June 2026.
