Israeli strikes in Gaza result in multiple deaths
At least six people were killed and several others injured in Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip on May 6, 2026. Among the casualties, high-ranking Hamas police official Nassim al-Qalazani was confirmed dead after his vehicle was hit near Khan Yunis. Reports also indicate that Azzam Khalil al-Hayya, the son of a senior Hamas leader, was wounded in Gaza City. Separate Israeli airstrikes in Gaza City resulted in the deaths of between three and five individuals, while 15 to 17 people were reported injured in various locations. These incidents occur despite a ceasefire agreement established in October 2025. Local health authorities report that at least 830 to 837 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire began, alongside five Israeli soldiers. Both sides continue to accuse each other of violating the terms of the truce.
