Beaver attacks child and several others at Henry Lake in New Jersey
On Sunday, May 3, a beaver attacked an eight-year-old child who was fishing with his family at Lake Henry in New Jersey. Video footage shows the child attempting to flee, stumbling, and being bitten on the thigh by the animal. A family member intervened by kicking the beaver, sustaining a leg bite in the process, before the child threw the animal back into the water. Two dogs also participated in repelling the creature. Local police confirmed that the beaver attacked several other people at the same location earlier that day. While the victims are under medical observation, authorities have not yet specified the exact number of injured persons or the severity of their wounds. The Mahwah Health Department has requested that anyone who came into contact with the animal seek immediate medical attention. Testing for rabies is currently part of the ongoing investigation into the animal's behavior.
