Cyprus Football Association announces disciplinary sanctions for multiple clubs
The Cyprus Football Association (CFA) judicial body, led by Aristotelis Vryonidis, has issued several rulings following disciplinary reports. Apollon Limassol was handed a one-match ban behind closed doors for the use of dangerous items, such as smoke bombs and firecrackers, during their cup match against APOEL. The club clarified that the upcoming match at the Alphamega Stadium against APOEL will proceed with spectators, with the ban to be served in the final match of the season against Aris Limassol. Additionally, Paphos FC received a one-match stadium ban and fines for multiple infractions, including the use of pyrotechnics and improper team composition during a cup tie. Aris Limassol trainer Giorgos Gekas was suspended for one match and fined due to unprofessional conduct toward officials during a U19 match on April 25, 2026.
