Limassol municipality and tourism stakeholders discuss development strategy
On May 6, the Mayor of Limassol, Yiannis Armeftis, held meetings to discuss the strategic development of the city for 2025–2035. During a session with representatives from the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB), including President Giorgos Pantelidis and Director General Michalis Antoniou, the mayor outlined plans for sustainable urban growth and increased private-sector investment. Armeftis announced the creation of specialized committees, such as the Development and Climate Change Committees, and invited OEB to participate. In a separate meeting with the Limassol Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP), led by Andreas Tsouloftas, and the Limassol Hotel Association, led by Christos Tsanos, participants discussed ways to boost tourism. Key topics included attracting new markets, extending the tourist season, and promoting thematic tourism such as cultural, gastronomic, sports, and conference events.
