Human remains discovered in the Treis Elies community

On the afternoon of Wednesday, May 6, authorities were alerted after human remains were found near the cemetery in the Treis Elies community of the Limassol district. The discovery, located approximately 100 meters from the cemetery, includes segments of a jawbone and rib bones. The area has been cordoned off and is under police surveillance. The Morphou Criminal Investigation Department (TAE) has taken over the case. An anthropologist has been consulted to assist with the identification process. Authorities are currently investigating several scenarios, including the possibility that the remains were displaced during a previous burial process at the local cemetery. Forensic examinations are ongoing to determine the origin and age of the bones.
