Court rules Angelina Jolie does not need to release emails in Miraval winery case
A Los Angeles court has ruled that Angelina Jolie is not required to hand over 22 emails to Brad Pitt as part of their ongoing legal dispute over the Chateau Miraval winery. The court determined that the documents contain protected legal strategies, reversing a previous order from December 2025. Jolie's attorney, Paul Murphy, described the ruling as a significant victory, claiming the emails were privileged material. Conversely, sources close to Brad Pitt characterized the decision as a temporary procedural delay. The court denied Jolie's request to impose $34,000 in sanctions against Pitt’s legal team. The dispute over the $184 million estate has lasted for ten years, covering issues of property management and the sale of shares. Additionally, the parties disagree on the trial start date, with Jolie proposing autumn 2027 while Pitt seeks an earlier schedule. The couple separated in 2016 and finalized their divorce in 2024.
