Medical incident at the 2026 parliamentary candidate registration in Nicosia

During the candidate nomination process for the 2026 parliamentary elections in Nicosia, a man collapsed and lost consciousness. The incident occurred shortly after 12:00 at the Archangelos Cultural Foundation hall in the Kykkos Monastery. The individual, who had been present at the venue since 08:00 in the morning, was confirmed not to be a parliamentary candidate. A doctor present at the venue for the registration process immediately provided first aid and performed a clinical assessment. Subsequently, an ambulance was called to the scene to transport the man to the Nicosia General Hospital as a precautionary measure. His condition is being monitored to ensure his safety. The process of candidate nominations continued following the intervention.
