Candidacies submitted for the May 24 parliamentary elections in Cyprus

On May 6, 2026, the nomination process for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Cyprus concluded in the Paphos and Limassol electoral districts. In Limassol, a total of 167 candidacies were submitted by 17 party lists and three independent candidates, with 71.9% of the candidates being male and 28.1% female. In the Paphos district, 67 candidacies were submitted by 16 party lists and two independent candidates, comprising 74.6% men and 25.4% women. Returning officers Emily Dionysiou and Efrossyni Georgiou announced that the election is scheduled for May 24. Objections against any candidacy may be filed by voters until 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026. These objections will be reviewed promptly to facilitate the finalization of candidate lists and the printing of ballots. While Democratic Change and Far-Left Resistance Communism did not submit candidacies in Paphos, several major parties, including DISY, AKEL, and DIKO, have registered candidates across these districts.
