Disy party submits candidate nominations for 2026 parliamentary elections

Annita Demetriou, the president of the Democratic Rally (Disy), officially submitted the party's candidacy lists for the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for May 24, 2026. The party submitted its 19-member candidate list for the Nicosia district and confirmed its candidates for the Larnaca district, which include Annita Demetriou herself, Stalo Voniati, and Andrea Theologou. During the submissions, Demetriou emphasized the party's focus on stability, pragmatic solutions, and addressing daily societal challenges. She stated that the party avoids populist rhetoric and instead presents candidates with experience and political consistency. The Larnaca district will elect six out of the total 56 parliamentary seats. Demetriou urged citizens to participate in the upcoming elections, which she described as a celebration of democracy. The party maintains that its candidates are prepared to manage both local and national issues with responsibility.
