Democratic Alignment party submits candidate list for the 2026 Cyprus parliamentary elections

Christos Kliridis, leader of the Democratic Alignment (DIMAL) party, submitted his party's candidate list for the parliamentary elections scheduled for May 24, 2026. The party's slate includes Christos Kliridis, Alexandros Kliridis in Nicosia, Giorgos Theocharidis in Limassol, and Savvas Petrou in Kyrenia. During the submission process, Kliridis emphasized that his party advocates for a 'correct solution' to the Cyprus problem, which he defined as a unified state free from military occupation and foreign guarantees. He argued that the current path must reject potential solutions that could be detrimental to the country's future. Furthermore, the party platform calls for the establishment of a modern European state that prohibits racial or ethnic divisions. Beyond national issues, Kliridis stated that his party intends to combat government corruption and mediocrity. He pledged that DIMAL will continue to promote these positions regardless of the election outcome.
