Inmate dies at Nicosia General Hospital

An 81-year-old inmate serving a six-year sentence for sexual offenses has died at Nicosia General Hospital. The individual, who was held at the Central Prisons, passed away on Tuesday evening. According to official reports, the inmate suffered from serious health issues and was undergoing regular dialysis. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance at approximately 18:45 and was pronounced dead at 22:20. The police have been notified regarding the incident, and standard investigative procedures are underway. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death. This marks the second inmate death at the Central Prisons in recent days.
