Tourism and regional development meeting held at the Deputy Ministry of Tourism

A meeting was held at the Deputy Ministry of Tourism to discuss the strategic development of the Polis Chrysochous and Tylliria region. Attendees included the Mayors of Polis Chrysochous and Akamas, the Presidents of the respective Tourism Committees, the Municipal Secretary of Polis Chrysochous, and the General Directors of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy. A primary focus was the presentation of the digital platform 'Mitos', which serves as a comprehensive tourism guide for Cyprus. The integration of the Polis Chrysochous region into this platform is expected to begin in early 2027 to enhance the area's visibility. Furthermore, participants met with the Deputy Minister of Tourism to address the update of the strategic development plan for the Polis Chrysochous and Tylliria region. It was decided that local authorities would submit their feedback to facilitate the completion and presentation of the updated study by June. The Municipality of Polis Chrysochous stated its commitment to supporting sustainable tourism development actions.
