Nomination process concluded for Paphos legislative elections

On May 6, 2026, the election official for Paphos, Efrosyni Georgiou, announced that 67 candidates from 16 party combinations and two independent individuals have filed for the upcoming May 24, 2026, legislative elections. The candidate pool consists of 50 men (74.6%) and 17 women (25.4%). No candidates were submitted by Demokratiki Allagi or Akroaristeri Antistasi Kommounismos. Objections to the filed candidacies may be submitted by voters between 12:30 p.m. on May 6 and 12:30 p.m. on May 7, 2026. Separately, Interior Ministry official Menelaos Vasiliou confirmed that there are 47,384 registered voters in the Paphos district. The district will utilize 135 polling stations, with the largest accommodating 642 voters and the smallest 67. New registrations totaled 1,019 during the final quarterly review period between January and April 2026.
