DIPA leader Marios Garoyian submits party nominations for Nicosia

Marios Garoyian, president of the Democratic Alignment (DIPA), officially submitted the party's candidate list for the Nicosia district at the Kykkos Monastery cultural foundation. During the event, Garoyian announced his personal decision not to run as a candidate, framing it as a conscious choice to facilitate political renewal and provide opportunities for younger individuals. Responding to speculation that his decision was motivated by unfavorable polling data, he maintained that it was a strategic move to prioritize youth in politics. Garoyian expressed concern over the prevailing political climate, citing excessive polarization, toxicity, and a lack of constructive dialogue among major political forces. He emphasized that the party remains focused on social issues, including pension reforms and the Social Insurance Fund. Furthermore, during a regional gathering in Western Nicosia-Astromeritis, he asserted that a 'silent vote' supports DIPA, predicting the party's firm presence in the next parliament despite conflicting public opinion surveys. Garoyian also voiced support for government-led reforms in labor and social security, working alongside Labor Minister Marinos Mousiouttas.
