Tourism revenue increased by 7.4 percent in early 2026
Tourism revenue for the period of January to February 2026 reached 159.9 million euros, marking a 7.4% increase compared to the 148.9 million euros recorded during the same period in 2025. Specifically for February 2026, revenue totaled 85.3 million euros, up from 79.7 million euros in February 2025. The Statistical Service reported that while total revenues grew, the per capita tourist expenditure decreased by 2.3%, falling to 581.85 euros in February 2026 from 595.71 euros in February 2025. The United Kingdom remained the largest market, accounting for 19.3% of total tourists, with an average daily expenditure of 72.72 euros per person. Poland followed as the second-largest market at 18.4% of total traffic, with visitors spending an average of 75.02 euros daily. Israel ranked third, representing 12.6% of tourists and recording the highest daily spending at 157.15 euros. Overall, the data indicates a positive trend in volume, even as individual spending patterns showed a slight decline compared to the previous year.
